Qawra: the best of both worlds
Whether you are hoping for a relaxing few days away from it all, or are keen to dive head first into a variety of lively activities, Qawra ticks all the boxes for the perfect holiday in Malta.
Located in the north of the island, this once sleepy fishing village has developed into one of Malta’s most popular tourist resorts. Highlights include the busy centre, with its vibrant pjazza, picturesque promenade, restaurants, shops, bars, clubs, casino and cinema complex. There are also many amenities to hand, including grocery shops, banks and ATMs.
It is ideal for families, as there is plenty to keep all ages entertained, including play areas, bumper cars and trampolines in the summer months.
But there’s also a more tranquil side to the resort, with a sandy beach (seasonal), endless stretches of rocky coastline ideal for sunbathing and relaxing, and plenty of picturesque spots to sit and watch the world go by.
Additionally, it offers very close proximity to many of Malta’s most popular attractions, including sandy beaches Mellieha and Golden Bay, family fun parks Popeye Village, Mediterraneo Marine Park and Splash & Fun Park, as well as numerous open spaces for lovely walks in the countryside. Each is only a short bus ride away.
By car, Qawra is approximately 40 minutes away from the airport, 30 minutes away from the capital city Valletta, and 10 minutes from Mellieha and the ferry points to Gozo and Comino.
The local bus terminus is also nearby, with buses that travel to almost anywhere on the island, including to the airport.
